Mr. Jurin is an Operating Partner of Cimbria. He is based in Overland Park, Kansas.

Mr. Jurin is a strategic, agile, and results-driven agricultural innovation leader. With a mission to feed the world, he has identified and scaled groundbreaking technology in plant nutrition, adjuvant technology, biostimulants, seed treatment and sustainable crop protectants, and customized quality improvement formulations for both conventional and organic crops, which has led to almost $1B in revenue growth across organizations. He has comprehensive commercial knowledge of product evaluation, mergers and acquisitions, international regulatory compliance, agronomy, horticulture, fertigation, aquatics, and ornamentals.

Mr. Jurin joined Compass Minerals in 2016 as the Senior Product Manager to further strengthen the firm’s operational, strategic, and tactical execution over the development of products in the specialty plant nutrition space. In this capacity, he ran the North American Innovation lab where he created disruptive specialty fertilizer products for seed, irrigation, and foliar applications and developed salt products used in ice management, water treatment, and animal/human feed, as well as being tapped to identify disruptive technologies in the Potassium and salt space. His leadership, technical, and regulatory expertise throughout markets in North America, South America, Europe, China, South East Asia, Australia, and Africa served as the foundation for specialty plant nutrition market strategy.

Before joining Compass Minerals, Mr. Jurin spent nearly 20 years in management and project discovery at BRANDT Consolidated, an Illinois-based private company, focused on creating new technologies and innovation to drive modern agriculture. At BRANDT, he served as the Director of Agronomic Services and Product Discovery where he initiated the process for launching the first-ever EPA registered plant growth regulator influencing photosynthesis. Mr. Jurin started his career as a horticulture consultant and grower, cultivating crops in South America, Canada, and the United States.

Recognized throughout the world as an agricultural innovation expert, Mr. Jurin is a prominent speaker for leading forums worldwide, including at New Ag International, worldwide micronutrient congresses., and as the preeminent industry expert at customer events and training sessions where he has delivered 500+ presentations. Well-known industry publications such as Growing North, Productores de Hortalizas, Ag Professional Magazine, and ​New Ag International frequently seek Mr. Jurin’s expertise to understand the future of agronomy and sustainable agriculture.

Mr. Jurin started his agricultural education at the Universidad del Tolima in Ibague, Colombia, and graduated from New Mexico State University with a bachelor’s degree in Agronomy. Always one to stay on top of industry trends, he is an active member within renowned organizations such as the American Society of Agronomy, Crop Science Society of America, Soil Science Society of America, and International Society of Horticultural Sciences. Outside of work, Mr. Jurin enjoys exploring Mid-Century architecture, including houses designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, photographing plants while on vacation with his family, and developing his podcast series.
