Mr. Laursen is an Operating Partner of Cimbria. He is based in Denmark.

Henrik Laursen is CEO of AMI Global, an IoT company helping rotating equipment manufacturers add remote connectivity, data collection, device control, and analytic capabilities to pumps, motors, and variable speed drives. In 2020, he helped lead the company in negotiations with Alfa Laval, a world leader within the key technology areas of heat transfer, separation and fluid handling, who acquired a 20% stake in the company.

Prior to AMI, Mr. Laursen was CEO of LiqTech Systems A/S, one of the leading Danish systems integrators of silicon carbide membranes for water treatment applications. A proven leader in international commercialization strategies, Mr. Laursen was focused on positioning LiqTech’s execution capabilities, production expansion, and core business processes for global expansion.

In 2014, Mr Laursen founded an international consulting company called GetStartedGlobal. In this capacity, he focused on business development and sales activities for companies wanting to enter the US markets and US companies entering European markets. The positive results of his consulting engagements led to his CEO role at LiqTech.

Between 2000 and 2014 Mr. Laursen held global business development roles at Grundfos, one of the largest pump manufacturers in the world. Most recently, he served as Director of Grundfos Silicon Valley and Head of Grundfos Water Technology Center where he focused on strategic acquisitions and minority investments in the cleantech sector. Mr. Laursen spearheaded Grundfos’ research on new business models, technology, and partnerships in water and smart buildings with the close collaboration of senior executives, thought leaders, NGOs, and academia. While at Grundfos, he also played an instrumental role for the integration of the ‘Digital Dosing’ pump, which resulted in marked progress for next-generation digital pumps.

Mr. Laursen was also a founding member and chairman of BlueTechValley, one of the most successful incubators and clusters for agriculture related water innovations in North America.

Mr. Laursen brings over 20 years of commercial experience working in global markets for the water industry with a focus on Europe and North America. He holds a bachelors in Marine Engineering from the Aarhus School of Marine and Technical Engineering, and certifications in executive development programs from Stanford University and the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.
